Multi-day destination wedding weekend on the Yucatán Peninsula
Finest Playa Mujeres sits at the northern tip of the Yucatán Peninsula, just across the water from Isla Mujeres, and it earns its name. The property is expansive but never impersonal - the kind of resort where the Caribbean light hits differently at every hour and the ocean is always somewhere in frame.
For couples planning a destination wedding weekend in Cancun, it's one of the most complete venues in the region: multiple ceremony locations, open-air reception spaces, and enough room for a large group to feel like they've genuinely taken over a place together.
The weekend:
Colombe and Zoli brought their closest people to Mexico for three days, and from the first welcome dinner to the last song on the dance floor, the whole weekend had that particular energy that only happens when everyone you love is in the same place with nowhere else to be.
The ceremony took place on the resort's beachfront just before dinner - the kind of light that requires almost nothing else. The reception moved to the grand palapa as the evening deepened, and what started as dinner turned into the kind of dance floor that doesn't empty until the venue asks everyone to leave.

Finest Playa Mujeres is a strong venue for documentary photography - the architecture gives you natural frames, the grounds offer variety between locations, and the light off the water in the late afternoon is something I'd travel back for without hesitation.
