Everyone knows planning a wedding is a lot of work.
Planning a wedding, renovating a barn and the property surrounding it to create a new, unique wedding venue, raising a little girl, working, and trying to have a life at the same time? Sounds kind of impossible - but it’s not, because these two did it.
Some people get an idea and think, “oh that would be cool”, but never actually take the first step that’s necessary to do anything about it. Kaitlin and Kyle had the idea to transform the old barn on their property into a beautiful wedding venue - and they ACTUALLY DID IT. It took years, a ton of energy and resources, and a lot of late nights, but they literally built the wedding site of their dreams, starting from the ground up. To properly christen the new space, they hosted their own wedding there last month, surrounded by friends and family.
The amount of work leading up to their wedding day was so unthinkably huge, but they leaned on family, friends, and each other, and ended up having the most beautiful day. Every little detail made the day so much more them, from the boho dreamcatcher bouquets to the matching sparkly mom-and-daughter Keds for Kait and her little girl, to the awesome bar setup and dance party at the end of the night. They had a friend set up a beautiful teepee outside the barn, had an Aboriginal elder perform their ceremony, and recited the most amazing vows to one another.
I already knew that they were super fun, sweet together, and that they wanted their wedding to be as fun as much as they wanted it to be beautiful. What I wasn’t expecting was for it to be so genuinely touching, heartfelt and memorable. Oh, and the party was also super fun (see fun dancy photos below). Kait and Kyle did a perfect job making their wedding day insanely beautiful. It was so amazing to be able to capture not only their wedding, but their first-ever wedding at their new venue.
Congrats you two! Cheers to many more fun weddings at your place! ;)
